to the Hidden Shrine. It is still under construction, but by and by you may find new additions or changes. My little tavern in Dionysias, the Drunken Croc Inn, will soon be ready to receive visitors. In the back room the staff of Croc Bite Press, Dionysias' major newspapyros agency for independently gathered information, has already taken up business and will provide us with amazing and in-depth insights pretty soon.
Until then, may I offer you Egyptian beer or wine while you rest in the cooling shadows? A few dates, bread or nuts to go with it?
Just recently the entire precinct around the Hidden Shrine has been blessed by the presence of Emuishere, a Child of Bast, who has chosen this place as home. We are all very pleased about it, The Purr was just what had been lacking here. *smiles happily* So if you see a sleepy priest shuffle through the morning mists, reverently carrying a bowl of fresh cream through the Shrine, it's either Sinuhe or me, making an offering to our new family member.
Speaking of which, some time ago a distant cousin of Sinuhe has set up business here in Dionysias as well, Niankh, a swnw, a "doctor of the people" with special in-depth knowledge about the cure of hangovers. A very useful thing around here, to be sure! In Niankh's wake followed his young apprentice, Sennedjem; we will see how well Sennedjem can adapt to his new trade, since he's originally an embalmer. Sinuhe told me that Niankh said to him that he's anxious about his patients possibly getting nervous by being treated by the resident embalmer while they are still alive. Something to do with foreboding. *grins* I must admit, he's not entirely wrong...
In the next room you will find the public relations office of Croc Bite Press, mostly the living room of Teefix, the Drunken Croc's bouncer, a giant from Britannia with a soft spot for everything Egyptian. And I mean everything. *smiles sweetly*
In the next room, the main room, you will find our sacred shrine, dedicated to Niankhkhnum and Khnumhotep. Here Sinuhe, my dear fellow-priest at this shrine, and I do make our daily offerings before we follow our other sacred duties at the Swaying Palms, Sinuhe's little property right next to the Drunken Croc. Just ask his bouncer, Typhoonix, if one of us is available, we will be happy to receive you.
The last room isn't really furnished at the moment, just a tablet with a poem, a few leopard skins, nothing more, really. Maybe those sleek Nubian painters will be around shortly to finish the decorations.
If you want to enjoy a good drink and some food at the Drunken Croc, just mention Sinuhe's or my name and Moreofdis, the barkeep, will see to all of your wishes even though we've not taken up business officially. Oh, and if you feel you need your make-up refreshed, Dioris will be at your service, he's the colourful little guy with the heavily perfumed wig.
