Irrasshaimase! Welcome to my Jinja!
Please pull up a pillow and have some sake & sushi while I tell you the Shinto Creation Story, or visit my courtyard where I tell the tale of Ama No Uzume's provocative Spring dance.

The god and goddess Izanagi no Mikoto and Izanami no Mikoto stood on the floating bridge of Heaven, and held counsel together, saying, "Is there not a country beneath?"
Thereupon they thrust down the jewel-spear of Heaven, and groping about found the ocean. The brine which dripped from the point of the spear coagulated and became an island.
The two deities descended and dwelt on this island. Accordingly they wished to become husband and wife together and to produce children. Two of these were the sun goddess Amaterasu-o-mi-kami and the Susano-no-mikoto of the sea.
One day the sun goddess Amaterasu withdrew into her cavern & refused to come out. The erotic clown-goddess Uzume hung a sacred jewel and a sacred mirror in the branches of a holly and began dancing about the black-fruited holly tree in a humorously sexy manner to attract the attention of Amaterasu and draw her out of the cavern so that Spring would begin.
