Welcome to my Húskot! My name is Svana Hvitaskald, and I am a húsfreya (house-wife), a runemistress, and a teller of tales. There is not much here to show you at the moment, but the least I can do is offer you a horn of mead and a place by the fire.
I suppose you'd like to know a little more about me, after coming all this way. Well, by Frigga's grace I have 36 years and I live here in the Húskot with my Amma Gunnlod, who is very old and in poor health. Riches we have none, only two goats and a small patch of herbs and vegetables. Eveything else that I need is given by those that hear my tales.
Sadly, those that will listen and not call my tales of the old gods blasphemy and heresy are growing few, and I sometimes fear greatly for our livelihood here. You look like a soul of the old ways - have you heard the tale of Thor's missing hammer? No?
Well, I would tell you now, but I have much to do looking after Amma Gunnlod. Maybe another day, then. But, please, stay as long as you wish - my hospitality is always at your disposal.
