The mask that you see to your right is from the Central Mexican site of Teotihuacan... looks an awful lot like the types of burial masks found in sites like: Tikal, Palenque, Calakmul, and others in the Maya area... Did this tradition start in the Maya area, or in Central Mexico? Toltec influence is strong in the Maya area throughout the classic and post-classic periods... hmmm...
