    The Great joust of Germania is a foot.
    Polish your armour, for tonight...We Joust!



    Welcome To The Third Annual Jousting Tournament of Germania.



    If you have not signed up yet you may do so here so you can be able to participate and win our fabulous prizes. You will also need to pick up a coat of arms here. Since all knights had one, we need to have one too. Some of the shield do have names just above them, that means that they are already taken. There are still plenty to be had, so hurry up and pick one before all the good ones are gone.

    What you need to do is simple; just pick one shield that you would like to use (except for any of the ones already taken) and let Desdemona know about it so she can help you use it for the games. I would also suggest that you make a second choice in case the one you choose is chosen by another player ahead of you. We will post it for you in the Jousting Tree after each joust has been set. You may also post your shield on the Jousting Thread if you like so we can all admire it and feel very envious.


    The rules for this game are simple, first of all you will need to find a marshal that will help you post the joust. Desdemona will gladly help you in this task, so please speak to her about it. Once that is out of the way you need to find a knight to joust against and then make an announcement about it in a post. Again, Desdemona may be able to help you in this department if you have run out of posts.

    Once you have done that, the players are to send their name, shield url (which you will find in the shields list), any bonus you may have and posture in the first gram to the marshal so it can all be added to the game before you start the joust. From the second gram and on you only gram the marshal your posture. So do keep this in mind!

    All the rules of the game are explained in detail here: Rules of the Game, so please read through them carefully. You should also read these two posts on how the pairings will be chosen and how the winners will be rewarded points to choose 3rd place.

    As each joust between knights is won, the winners will be posted in the jousting tree below. There you can also find who they will be matched against for the next round. This will continue until we determine the winner.

    This year there is a new twist to the Joust. We have added a new contest within the contest and of course a corresponding prize.

    The winner of this years' Joust will have the opportunity to joust against the grand master of the realm, The Black Knight.

    If our winner does manage to defeat The Black Knight, he will not only be awarded the highest honour of the land, but also be awarded The Holy Relic -- which has recently been brought to our land by crusading knights. All the rules and history behind The Black Knight can be found in this interesting article. Make sure you read it!


    This year there is also another addition to this great contest. For the very first time ever we will be adding The Lady's Favour to the Joust. What this means is that bets will be able to be placed on your favourite knight! To find out how this works I suggest that you read the rules that are found here: Rules for The Lady's Favour. At this link, you may also be able to pick the favour that you would like to use for the game, so feel free to use and colour, if you wish, any one of them.

    Well, I suggest you sign up now and read through the rules. I, Desdemona, will be acting as marshal for the length of the tournament, so don't hesitate to ask for my help in posting or anything else you may need. If you run out of posts I can do that for you or you can let me know of another persona that you may want to use and you may post with that persona as well. But please keep in mind that you need to let us know before you start posting with them or we won't be able to keep track of the winners.
