Brighten someone's day with a little random gift!
Announcing Germania's Kris Kringle (Secret Santa) for Yule 2006!
Everyone who signs up will anonymously give someone a little gift, and will receive one from some one else, just as mysteriously! Gifts are submitted to me, and I will post the gift, and who it's for (but not who it's from!). At the end of Yule, after all the gifts have been posted, the list of givers and recipients will be revealed! "Cool! How Do I Sign Up?"
If you're interested in being a Kris Kringle and sharing some Yuletide cheer, there are two ways to sign up: 1) Post a message on this thread 2) Email me at eirikr[dot]knudsson[at]yahoo[dot]com (with KK sign up in the subject line). The deadline to sign up is Friday, December 22nd. Be sure to sign up with the persona you wish to use for KK. "So I've Signed Up: Now What Do I Do?"
On December 23rd, a list will be made of everyone signed up and the names will be put into Kris Kringle's giant hat. Names will be drawn, and you will receive (in an email) the name of a person. You are that person's Kris Kringle! Find, create, draw, write, or otherwise come up with a gift for that person, and email the gift to eirikr[dot]knudsson[at]yahoo[dot]com (with KK gift in the subject line). Deadline to submit your gift: Please have it in to me by Friday, January 5, 2007.
Gifts will be posted as they are received. Look for gifts to be posted to this thread throughout Yule. "Got Any Gift Ideas?"
Gifts are limited only by your imagination and the cyber-ness of the web. An image, a poem, a story, a link you think they'd like--anything that can be posted in a thread. Not sure what that person might like? Visit their home(s), learn more about them, ask their friends (if you're sure they're not the same person under a different persona!). Or just share something of yourself or your interests that they may not be familiar with. Be creative!
You may include clues as to who you are but it's not required. Recipients may attempt to figure out who their respective Klandestine Kris Kringles are, but that's not required. The only requirement is to have fun!!
