Many monarchs would go on progress throughout their countries to enable themselves to see to the best interests of their people and more importantly, to be seen by their people. This thread will cover what it took to move the royal entourage around the country during their progress and how it would impact not only the common people, but also the aristocracy that would oftentimes have to offer up sumptious lodgings, entertainments, food, gifts, etc. to the detriment of their coffers.
