An Archaeological Tour of Gaul for Springfest 2005
|
Have you ever had dreams of being an archaoelogist, discovering ancient artifacts in faraway lands? Well, here’s your chance. And I promise… you won’t even have to get your hands dirty, or run the risk of breaking a nail. You are about to embark on an archaeological tour of Gaul. Of course, with our limited time, you cannot visit all of the territory which was once ruled by the Celts. However, you will have a chance to explore the seven Celtic sites which we have recreated in what was once known as Gaul.. While you are there, please sign our guest books. Let us know what you think of these "barbarians" and their way of life. Begin your journey in the bustling seaport and trading post of Massalia, on the Mediterranean coast. Here, from 600 BCE, the Greeks traded with the Celto-Ligurians. Wine, fine cloth and ornaments were exchanged for tin, salt, copper, iron weapons and tools, and animal pelts. Have a good look around the place. The artifact you’re looking for has something to do with this maritime trade. Search the maps and look for something other than "For Sale" signs. Clicking on these will just get you a quick trip to Hustlin’ Eddie’s Real Estate Office. |
