All Greek-speaking people are elligible for initiation, including women, slaves and foreigners.
On the 16th of the month of Boedromion all the initiates will gather at the bay of Phaleron to purify themselves by bathing in the sea. They are required to bring a sacrificial pig to offer to the goddess Demeter.
