Disembark here! Take your ease at the Midgard Serpent Tavern ladies and gentlemen while we await the arrival of the Governor, Publius Quintilius Varus and begin our journey into darkest Germania.

The tavern is set at the very mouth of the Rhine and the charming local Batavian tribesmen are well and truly Romanised and probably won't bite (much). Relax with a few steins of the local brew or explore the nature trails and the quaint hamlet nearby while we await Governor Varus and begin our journey proper. Don't wander too far though - the Phoenix begins the journey upriver at 4pm EST and stragglers will be eaten by bears.
No, really - they will.
