From March 5 - March 15, 2004, Caesar's death will be reconstructed here.
March 5, 44 BC. Caesar is making final arrangements to take his armies to the East to fight the greatest campaign of his life against Parthia. Appointed recently by the Senate as "Dictator for Life," he is indifferent to the swirls of conspiracy all around him. Brutus, Cassius, Cicero and many other Senators are outraged; Caesar's women (including Cleopatra, who has spent the last several months at his country villa) prepare for his departure. Join us for the last ten days in the life of Rome's Dictator.
'How many ages hence/Shall this our lofty scene be acted over/ In states unborn and accents yet unknown!'
Julius Caesr, III,i.
