Faeries in the Christian Tradition
“White choral bells upon a slender stalk / Lily of the valley line my garden walk / O how I wish that I could hear them ring / That can only happen when the Angels sing.”
The last line of this song originally ran “That can only happen when the Fairies sing.” Since the advent of Christianity, the pagan gods and Fairies have become either Devils or Angels. Here’s the place to chat about Fairy culture in Christian times. Many European cultures, well into the last century, held on tightly (though secretively) to Fairy traditions, particularly in Scandinavia and Ireland.
