    AW Hard Drive Crash

A hard drive crash has led to a loss of data posted between 3 AM and 8 PM on Monday, April 14 th.

There was a catastrophic hard drive failure on the AW server. Although the WhosOnline (comPanel and Instant messaging) has been migrated to our new, "dedicated" AW server, the rest of the site is still being served from a "shared hosting" environment. That facility reported that the hard drive that our site (among others) was served from crashed with a loss of all data.

Fortunately, the nightly backup of the drive was fine and they were able to restore the site to its image as of 3AM Aprl 14th.

We should be moving the rest of the site to our dedicated server next week. At that point we should be setting up a "mirror" database that will be served from a different drive and have a more current duplicate of the site at any given time to help out in any future hardware issues.

I apologize for the data loss especially since so much work had been done to make the Egyptian Spring fest and Monday evening Trivia Contest a success.
