... as I was watching really early TV in those days, and it wasn't just farm reports.
I was a hyperactive kid who needed little sleep, so usually around 4am I'd wake and sneak into the dining room to watch the only TV. Reruns of Dobie Gillis were watched avidly, as was some show where a guy with a large drawing pad upon easel drew letters absolutely perfectly -- alas, I have no idea what else he was teaching.
Anyway, commentators that day were discussing politics and quite a number of people jostled with momentary bright flashes of cameras and ...
BANG!
... followed by ...
Earlier, when I heard it was Robert Kennedy, I tried to wake my parents who surely would be interested. After all, he was running for President and wasn't that important? They yelled for me to sleep longer -- who the hell cared about that Kennedy fellow?
I ran to them again; this time they awoke. And were scared.
Who in hell was killing all our major citizens?
