The savergry, corruption and leud behavior were all factors which led to their downfall. So while admiring them- or stepping back to 'look at them' to see there is or was another way of doing thigs- we should not envy that as if our society repeats their mistakes we shall fall as well. So many see that comparison with the way morality is going down hill.
