    Brave Sir Allen rode swiftly
    Under a bright blue moon
    To see his lady love
    Humming a warrior's tune

Lady Jane, he called to her
High up in her crystal tower
My dear Sir Allen, she replied
Why do you call at this unseemly hour

Oh my only dearest love, he cried
    You must immediately come down
Right now, she gasped in horror
But I'm in my dressing gown

    Knowing she was nearly naked
    Made Sir Allen shudder
He thought of her creamy skin
    Smooth as fresh churned butter

    Please hurry my darling
I can not stay for long
And she could tell from his voice
    That there was something wrong

I have been called to battle
Far off in the holy land
He said, as they walked through the garden
And he held her dainty hand

I ask you for a favor
    A token of your affection
So I may bravely face my death
    Surrounded by your protection

Let us sit behind this rose bush
    He cooed affectionately
And maybe we could think of
    Something you could give me

Lady Jane wouldn't hear of it
She was not so easily tricked
I believe if I were to do that, she said
I am likely to get pricked

And I don't wish to grant you my favor
You could be gone for years
    Lady Jane sobbed hysterically
    Her eyes sparkling with tears

Why must you go so far away
    To prove your bravery
By fighting in the heat and sand
When I want you here with me

I do it for king and country
    And glory most supreme
    Also for the vast treasures
    More than you could dream

    Treasures, Lady Jane scoffed
    A scowl upon her face
    What fine things could come
    From that dirty heathen place

They have gowns of silk, he said
In any color you can name
    Covered in magnificent jewels
In matching hues of the same

They have giant nuggets of gold
    Just lying in the streets
    And beautiful, shining golden bowls
Filled with fruit and delectable sweets

    They have magic flying carpets
That will take you away on a whim
I will bring one especially for you
    With peacock feather trim

Perhaps a pet I could bring you
    An exotic bird that talks
    Or a small furry monkey
That you could take for walks

If you grant me your special favor
I could bring you all this and more
But I need it from you right now
So I may fight valiantly in this war

The visions swimming before her eyes
    Made Lady Jane's head swoon
And she fell upon Sir Allen
    Under that bright blue moon

    Then heard throughout the garden
Was a strange night creature's cry
And certainly not the sound of a lady
    Whose judgement had gone awry

Sir Allen rode off in triumph
In his mission he did not fail
    He had his lady's favor
Still burning under his chain mail

And as Lady Jane climbed the stairs
    To finally get some rest
She thought of sweet Sir Allen
And she truly hoped for the best

But she knew knights were plentiful
    As the raindrops falling
And it wouldn't be long before
Another of her many champions came calling
