I arrived at the Hotel Ritz with my usual entourage of sycophants. I long to see Paris on my own without all of these attendants. We are here to obtain a suitaible wardrobe for my pending coronation and wedding. How I long to get away from them all, just for a little bit, to have some time all to myself. I long to be a normal human being and to be free of the duty and obligations of my noble birth. How I long to be an ordinary young woman, on holiday. My entire life, since birth seems to one of perpetual longing.
