jpt-swt, 'Most Select of Places' names the temple complex on the West bank. Together with Luxor, it is the backbone of Waset, the reason for its existence. A religious centre, it is also Kemet's main administrative centre. ...

...could be seen across the eastern desert. Merenchepri sat in her gardens, looking at the first beams at her small pont, and closed her eyes for a little prayer to Ra. In front of her layed the latest letter Chahor had send her, and she missed him more than ever. It is all getting to me...Carrying my dearest child, protecting him, watching my own steps like Heqet told me, my daily duties and chores as High Priestess, and now a murder and robbery in my temple! In the name of the Netjeru; it's like Chaos has spread His dark wings over us all! She picked up her writing materials to write a letter to her husband.

    My dearest Chahor,

May Mut smile down at you and may Horus protect you always. Thank you for your latest letter and your concern, my love. I know you, Chahor, and I know you're anxious to protect me and solve every problem for me, but for now it is all up to me. Mirjam and I are working on the case of the murder and the robbery, but so far no clues. It's like a demon from Seth sneaked in and got away without leaving any tracks, but I know this is the work of a human hand and I will catch the villain who did this, may Mut be my witness!

I must admit I'm quite tired my love, but I can tell you as well that I'm doing fine; my health is good and your son is growing every day. Heqet is keeping an eye on me and Mirjam and her husband are caring and loving as always. Still I miss you terribly and I can't wait to see you and hold you again. You must have reached the northern boarder of Kush by now; promise me you'll be carefull my love, the name "Vile Kush" didn't came out of nowhere. Be strong for Kemet, for Ramesses and for me and your son, and I promise you the Netjeru will reunite us again.

Much love from your faithfull wife

After Merenchepri had eaten something and had given the letter to Ghada in order to give it to a messenger, she retreated to her private quarters. She dressed herself in the purest linnen, hung the jewelry of the High Priestess around her neck and wrists, and gave herself an official make-up in front of her bronze mirror. Today an important task awaited her. A few weeks ago, there had been several new girls who where anxious to enter the temple of Mut as apprentices, and she hadn't trusted it back then. Now, after the murder, she didn't trust it at all. And so Merenchepri had asked for all of her staff to come to the square of the Precinct. I am a seer, a magician...My intuition will not fail me, and Mirjam is someone who can see right through lies and deceit, and she promised me she'd be there today. If there is a liar or murderer among my staff, I will recognise him or her!
