Is it just me, or is Gladiator the most historicaly inaccurate movie to ever win an Academy Award? Is it Bravehart, or perhaps something else? ...

I suspect that what they meant by the "staged white rocks" was not a question as to whether D-Day actually occurred and involved storming the beach at Normandy but rather the historical irony that it was Bill Clinton who was president for the 50th anniversary of that event.

And whatever else one thinks of Mr. Clinton, or the Democrat-Republicans or the Republican-Democrats... it is ironic that he was president for the 50th anniversary of D-Day. (Although it would, of course, be more ironic if he were the son of German-Japanese immigrants.)
