    Zeus, Hades and Poseidon were all considered to be Olypmic gods, because they each held one third of the "world." Poseidon almost never went to Olympus, and Hades rarely so, but they were both considered Olympic.

    I don't disagree that Hades had chthonic ties, though - his rituals tend to be propiatory rather than caretaking. :-)
