Before the company left Kemet a terrible thing was discovered, greedy merchants both Egyptian and foreign had been stocking and hidding big amounts of wheat and other cereal grains to sell them on more expensive prices as the war proceeded, a war is always a good excuse to generate panic and speculation, to punish these merchants of hunger Chahor confiscated part of the stocked grains as supplies for the army.
Now the company was traveling to Wawat and Chahor had left strict orders of executing any merchant guilty of hoarding all food confiscated from them will be stocked in Kemets storing silos and used with justice.
In the first stop to rest Chahor -who had been more than willing to write- took the pencil and the tablets and wrote a letter for the love of his life:
"My Dearest Chepri"
"May the gods look after you and keep you well; Our company is traveling to Wawat as you adviced and as our divine King Rameses -Honor and Glory to him- ordered, our troops will soon be reinforced by Medja mercenaries, it is good to know you got my letter so fast".
"It feels like a long time for me too my love and my heart misses you on every step on this travel, every night in my sleep I dream about you, sometimes being blessed by the gods, which is a good omen, I'm confident that you are more than capable of taking care of matters and of course of yourself, still I want Ghada to look after you and to share our joy in your pregnancy, the gods had being specially generous with women, feeling a life growing inside you must be a delightful joy hard to explain to someone that is not a female, blessed your blood and blessed the gods for making you a woman".
"After our arrival to Kemet my spies found out about some greedy merchants hidding food and grains to sell them at scy high prises latter on, but that is not to happen, I put some of them under arrest and seized theis stocks, the remanent of these criminals will be persecuted by the local soldiers staying on Kemet".
"Take care of yourself my dear and pray for me nd our army, after Wawat we will travel south and we will join the forces of Rameses -long life and health-, battle awaits us but we're confident of victory, all the omens had been possitive and as I swore to you I shall surely return to see my son come to this world".
"Forever yours Chahor".
