The giantic warewolf was slowly appoaching and curiously it's neck bore the cross of Jeb O'Flannigan, and his ragged cothes resembled Flannigan's too, it was all too clear Jeb had been bitten by a warewolf and become one himself, to his horror Whelan found himself detecting the real identity of the warewolf and it was like seeing into Jeb's soul, Whelan felt the same terror he used to feel when he spotted the ghost of his mother hauting the Eggilson's house; The horrible beast came closer to the Constable who was motionless it was about to attack when the Constable showed him a silver amulet, the warewolf recoiled like if he was in pain and it recovered his human form and was inmediatelly restrained with blessed ropes.
Then The Constable adressed the man who had sent the beast against them, "In the name of the Law and the Kingdom I put you and all your Cult Members under arrest for kidnapping James O'Flannigan and for plotting to commit murder" but the words were still fresh in his mouth when a big lot of men and women came out to face The Constable's group, their leader invocated some magical powers and with a cold breeze they all started to transform themselves into warewolves, whelan had always thought the warewolves were innocent victims bitten and transformed against their will, but this lot was different, the had apparently volunteered into it.
The pack of giantic wolves prowl forth to shatter the lot, but the Constable was faster "Fire" he shouted and his command was followed by a multiple thunder of silver bullets that imbeded itselves into the pack of wolves, Whelan though he was a mediocre shooter, shoot one warewolf right between the eyes, but he inmediatelly could feel the same pain and agony of the dying beast, even so he controled himself enough to avoid fainting.
As the gunmen re-loaded their guns with silver bullets the men with blessed stakes went foward and to their surprise the blessed stakes worked the same way as silver against those monsters, but the Cult Werewolves were not motionless and they indeed caught and kill some men, but when they realized, it was a lost cause they started escaping to the forest.
Whelan showed them the secret entrance to the cave where James O"Flannigan was being kept, when they would return home they will be heroes.
