Well, Tante has been telling me for years that the stuff about decadent Cleopatra was all Roman propaganda put out by Octavius - which I'm willing to believe up to a point, not particularly admiring Cleo - but YE GODS! They took decadence and just ran with it, didn't they?
Antony and Cleo allegedly had a group known as the "Inimitable Livers" Club and they're definitely reading THAT part of Plutarch, I see. On my own, I relished it. I particularly enjoyed the poor 'stag' that bought it during target practice lol.
I expect quite a few angry Romano-Egyptian posts on this. But WHAT an episode, and the previews of the finale . . . well, words fail me!
(I must admit, I also was glad to see Gaia get hers. But how are we going to give this thing a happy ending in one remaining episode for our lads, Pullo and Vorenus?)
