Just simply plaid. that is the tag that both archaeologists and anthropoligists use to identify the Celtic culture. They have woven plaids in a distinctive weave since before 1000 years BC.There are examples in Hallstadt in Germany and The Tarim Basin in Western China still extant. Plaid means Celtic and nothing else.
