The list of charges against Damocles Lycias was long including murder, terrorism, intentional destruction of private propety, flying his spaceship in a restricted area, sacrilege etc etc etc. many of the charges were punishable with death penalty, Benerib didn't know what kind of death penalty were given in this Theocracy but he knew this will be a tricky case.

Benerib felt like he was to confront a giant but all giants has their weak point, after the enless recount of the events of the day of the attacks they showed a video of Damocles shooting the robot camera that was keeping him on the screans of every tv in the whole colony, after that another video of the CCS-Freedom Damocles' ship collapsing against the main Nulonist Temple.

A usual trick in this cases is pretending you don't understand the charges "Your Eminence, The Corporation has no law about anything like sacrilege, what sacrilege did my client commited?" High Priest Tergus Lupus snorted as if benerib had asked a question about something obvious or absurd "He demaged the Temple the house of our god Nulon and a few othe lessr gods we too worship, and we care little about what the Corporation thinks this is a Theocracy" he yelled getting a brief applause from the audience, Benerib checked some papers then said : "So that means that if you are braking the rules of The Thocracy then you're a sacrilegious?" Tergus Lupus directed his words to the audience "Well he finally got the picture" which caused an explosion of laugher in the room, but the fish had biten the hook.

The judges in these Colonies has no hammers to induce silence over the audience like judges outside the Theocratic Colonies do, Tergus Lupus finally raised his hands to demand silence and Benerib was given the word "So Eminence, if The Pontiff himself instructed you to keep on track with the montly payments due to be given to The Corporation and you are three months behind with the payments then..." Lupus' golden ringed finger pointed at Benerib stoped him from finishing that sentence, the audience was as quiet as a graveyard, the five jurors were murmuring something, "All right" said Lupus "I have no choice but to dismiss the charge of sacrilege" this cause a big "awwww" of disappointment in the audience that were willing to see the defendant executed.

With pure reasonable doubt the other charges against Dam started sounding less credible, why would he be flying in a restricted area if he was with the terrorists and knew his ship will fall?; Yes he did shoot and destroyed a robot camera but the media was saying on TV that he was one of the terrorists; Murder?, who did he murdered?, the aircrafts fell from air killing the pilots because of the terror attacks.

At last there were only one charge that that remained credible and/or not dismissed, the fact that he Damocles was indeed flying in a restricted area, the jurors had to deliberated some solid ten minutes to come with a veredict "We the jurors find the defendant Damocles Lycias innocent of all charges except the one of of unlawful flying in a restricted area" Dam had already pleaded guilty on that, High Priest and Judge Tergus Lupus had a nasty smile on his face as the defendant and Benerib raised to hear sentence, "Damocles Lycias you are permanently banned from flying any sort of ship in/or nearby the Colonies ruled by the Theocracy, I also sentence you to serve seven years in prision with a bail of 800 thousand credits" and he finished happily puting Damocles pilot's licence in the shatterer.

Damocles was debastated, he had escape death but he will be spending a long time behind bars, but Benerib was joyful and confident, give me 24 hours and you're out of jail.
