For some time, I have been looking for books and/or Web sites with high quality, detailed drawings, paintings, etc. showing, in detail, what the ancient wonders might have looked like when new. I haven't been successful, but the Romer book cited here sounds like a possibility.
However, neither the Amazon nor the Barnes and Noble sites give much description as to the illustrations, if any, in the book. Does anyone have the book, and if so, is it lavishly illustrated on glossy stock, for instance? Or is it just a few small color illustrations as I've been disappointed with in other books. To me, it's a modern wonder that there doesn't seem to have been a book on this subject with finely made illustrations. Who knows, maybe there's no money in it.
Anyway, any assistance or advice would be appreciated.
