    a most telling and moving piece. I would only take exception to Mr.Brooks' final statement. Modern people do not stumble upon the lessons of the past by happenstance. They go looking for them, when the pressures and stresses of their times and experiences make them aware of the necessity of the past and its lessons; and there is no better reason that I, for one, can see for the preservation of history. When one goes looking for such lessons, they need to be where one can find them.
