Ingvoldr reached into her pocket and pulled out her veterinary reference book. She rifled through the pages, forgetting that she was unable to read.
"Widimir, honey, could you read this for me?" she asked sweetly as she pulled his glasses out of his belt and perched them on his nose.
Widimir blinked and looked around the room, noticing for the first time that people and things seemed to have edges instead of just fading off. "Maybe I should wear these more often," the big Goth mused.
Ingvoldr squirmed on his lap. It wasn't good to have Widimir's attention wander very much.
"Read, please?"
Widimir looked at the lass in his lap as if seeing her for the first time. "Sure, uh, okay. You know you look much better with only two eyes."
"Some adult cats (and occasionally kittens) are unable to digest milk and some milk by-products. This is because they lack adequate amounts of the enzyme lactase, which aids in the digestion of milk sugars."
Ingvoldr reached into her pocket again. This time she pulled out a can of Friskies cat food. She pointed to the picture on the front.
"Is that cheese, sweetheart?"
The erudite Goth took the can and squinted at the pretty picture and tiny print on the label. "Tuna and cheese bits, my luscious one."
"Oh, goody! I guess it means - know thy cat" laughed Ingvoldr and cut a healthy chunk off the huge slab of Velveeta on the table.
"Here kitty, kitty!"
