I am not positive when Fabio and I became friends. We were both members of AS, way back when, and we may have become acquainted then. Whenever our acquaintance began, it transformed into true friendship when he started playing Imperium. For the first time, we talked to each other regularly. In fact, for the past several years, Fabio and I talked on a nearly daily basis. Our discussions were wide ranging - often beginning with Imperium, but moving to Roman history, Latin, current politics, grapics (of which I know nothing, but of which Fabio was a master), car racing, and many other subjects. Fabio was ever willing to take a few minutes and talk. I cherish the memories of those talks, and am saddened that I will have no more with him.

Fabio, as others have pointed out, was also always willing to help out. He has done so much extra stuff for me personally, I am so far in his debt I could never get out of it. He helped me with graphics for my lectures, was a sounding board for my ideas and was always supportive of me.

I have been a part of the AS/AW community for a very long time now. I have developed friendships with many people online that I have never met in "real life." Nevertheless, I feel I know many of you, truly. Fabio was one of those. Never did I imagine the depths of my sadness over the loss of Fabio. Never did I realize how my feelings had grown for my online friends. The loss of Fabio has taught me how much my relationships with many of you mean to me, because he was as much, or more, of a friend to me than anyone I had met face to face and shook hands with or ate dinner with.

Fabio, wherever you are, thank you for all that you have done for me, and countless others. Thank you for your aid, your knowledge, your patience, your concern, and your charity. Thank you for your friendship. I'm not good with expressing my feelings. But I love Fabio as my brother, and I will miss him dearly.
