I love that description! I feel like that so much of the time. In Meso, there are simply so many civilizations that to become an 'expert' on all of them is totally impossible. It's awful, in a way, because as I read and study I'm always finding those lovely side roads to travel. But, if I do, I know that the detour will keep me from my primary goal.
But, later, oh boy! Nothing will stop me from exploring all the subjects I've had to backburner.
My family seems genetically predisposed towards history. Every blamed one of us!
My favorite subjects were always history ones. And my favorite teacher among all the great ones was a dear lady who actually acted out history for us. We learned to really throw spears, use a sling, dress, the whole nine yards.
I'm pretty much a desert rat. If it's got anything to do with a desert, near a desert, named a desert, well, I'm interested. I haven't bought a property yet. I will probably do one in Hattusa because of my interest in the old Assyrian Colonies. But it's really tempting to do one of the nomads. Yeppers -- more desert! :D
