Sweetly the scent of the lovely Elf Rose
Wafts on the breeze when the day is done.
Clearly I hear the nightingale’s song,
Sweet to my ear as I walk alone
Waiting, I wander through sunset’s red glow,
The first evening star shining brightly above.
My soul is at peace and my heart is full,
I wait in the garden for my dearest love.
Now on the pathway I see her draw near,
Swan-like she moves - oh, so full of grace,<
And clear in the silvery light of the moon
My eyes drink the sight of her beloved face.
Green are her eyes, like a deep forest pool,
Her hair is as red as the fire’s bright flame.
She brushes my face with a feather light touch,
Her voice a caress as she whispers my name.
No other I know so touches my heart,
No other whose love I so wanted to win.
Only one elf maid brings so much delight,
Only one elf maid, my sweet Cherilynn.
