    Anyhow, do the sagas reflect what was happening in tenth and eleventh century Iceland or are they romaticised for an audience? I think a little bit of both in most cases!

    I agree with you Theodric. I think we can probably best compare them with some of our "made for tv" movies on historical figures here in the States. The sagas are based on historical events and people that actually existed, but recored for entertainment, not a historical record.
