The British Museum in London has the largest collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts outside of Cairo. It spans all time periods from the Predynastic times to the early Christian days. Their website includes galleries, notes about research, a noticeboard with news about exhibitions, loans, a search engine, webshop and much more. Among other things there is a great collection of sculpture including the colossal bust of Ramses II which was portrayed already in the 19th Century.
The most famous highlight is however the Rosetta Stone.
