I've been asked quite a bit lately about 'levels'. You know, that feature that shows up on the left hand side when you create a board, journal, etc. that says "This thread accessible by level"....and then lists 7 levels that you can chose.

On the open boards, journals, etc that are public, including your 'hood homes, this refers to the level of membership. 0 is for daylings and 7 is for cybergods. The default is set at 0 and this sets the board so that it can be accessible to all members. If you change it to 1, only novices and above can read it, 2, only citizens and above, and so on until Level 5 which is scribes, Level 6 is Demi and Level 7 is Cybergod.

Once you set your board to a level, all your subsequent topics under that board will automatically take on the initial level of the board. If you decide to change the level of your board, be sure to edit each topic under that board to reset their levels.

Now in groups, the concept is the same however the levels now correspond to the levels of the members of the group. So if you chose Level 4, only those members of the group who are Level 4 and above will be able to read it.

A word of caution - be careful not to set your board to a level that's above your level or you won't be able to access it yourself. If this happens, let a demi know and we'll be more than glad to help reset it.
