I am just beginning with this, so I am not sure if I understand most of what you say, in particular I have no idea what a subD modeller is. I will add a few more views etc.
Regarding reference pics: ok, there are none for intact buildings, except for the concrete restaurations done by Arthur Evans in Knossos. There is some evidence on details: the typical Minoan carmine pillars, the big double horns of stone. In the palacial buildings there are typically orthostat wall sockets of huge ashlar, and most of the walls above seem to have been smoothly dressed, hiding the rough-stone-and-wood structure beneath. I will work on this.
