    I'd venture to say there are more Germano-Nordic words than Native American words in modern English...

    Geez, without the Norsemen, we couldn't die, or even breath, and half of the places in the British Isles would still have Roman or Celtic names. Even our grammar is Nordo-Germanic in nature. English is a true "mutt" language, like a big salad kind of. I have to laugh when I hear someone say that a "foreigner" speaks in "pidgin" English. English IS a pidgin language!

    Oh, and if you want even more weird language stuff, try wrapping your noggin around Occidental sometime. THAT will bend a brain cell or two.
