The Egyptian 'sepat' - or nome of the Lower Laurel, was since the Middle Kingdom, the resort playground of the pharaohs and their entourages.

With this in mind - the hood of the Lower Laurel will evolve and I hope flourish as a vacationing spot for those well-heeled patrons who wish to buy a property in the area.

The majority of hoods I have visited throughout AW are, though superb and on the whole, beautifully done, it remains that they are the same dry history lessons filled with facts and figures that we find in our interest groups. Now... don't get me wrong but when I move into a hood, I don't need to know the location of the nearest temple... what I want to know is where the best Saturday night action is and where I can buy mementos and a drink.

The sepat of the Lower Laurel presents districts that are, in a way - interactive, without being so. Each district will be introduce by a 'person' who actually lives there and if it means me creating more personas to achieve this, so be it. Please see the Temple of Sobek as an example of what I mean here.

With this in mind I have purchased six properties... a country estate, apartments in our capital of Waset, a home for my cats in Bastet, a tomb complex (forever under construction - it's just so hard to get the bricks) and two lesser properties which will be developed as a 'house-boat' and a 'general store' in the district of Roman Karanis to supply general goods and wines etc' to the locals and vacationing nobs.

Further... I plan to create one more district in the Lower Laurel that will be 'the wrong side of the tracks.' After all, we sometimes ignore that Egypt was not all sweetness and light and with this idea in mind... the yet to be named district will be inhabited by thieves, cut-throats, have a house of 'pleasure,' informers, , mercenaries for hire, sly second hand chariot dealers, fake herbalists and quacks, ivory smugglers, Hittite spys, tomb robbers... and then, I am going to create a squad of medjay to police the area and offer advice to visitors.
