No matter the circumstances, it is always good to see old friends. Looking around the room, I see that Ares has escaped to a quiet, but most splendid corner. I wander over to him.
"You have found one of my favorite spots in the entire villa. Only one other tops it, literally, as it is almost directly above," I tell him, pointing up to the balcony just to the right.
"Of course your room would overlook the sea," he says after swallowing a morsel of food.
"I would not have it any other way." After a slight hesitation, I ask, "I was wondering if you would care to...join me for dinner this evening? That is, if you plan on staying. Many of the guests are leaving today, but I thought I would enquire as to your intent. Of course, you are welcome to stay as long as you wish. And here I am babbling like a young, foolish girl."
Embarrassed, I shake my head and then look down at my feet, awaiting his reply.
