On my Toshiba 2430 laptop, I found that removing the powerpack, cleaning the contacts on both the inside of the computer and those on the pack, then reinstalling often does the trick. Or it could also be the power-brick cable has a break that jiggling or maneuvering the cable this way and that would solve. Or it could be an internal system problem requiring more service.
