Would installing a new motherboard have anything to do with draining the battery on my laptop?

When I took my puter in to have a new motherboard installed the battery power was at 51%. When I picked it up it was down to 41%. The techs said run the puter to charge the battery. However, the battery continued to drain. I reset all options, turned off the wifi, turned everything to power save........still draining. What could cause this?
