I had been considering buying the Alexander lectures at full price. I'm glad you told me that it is more about the Hellenistic age. I have been studying the period for over a year now and doubt that lectures would help. It is extremely complicated and I need a pile of references and a pencil and paper to make notes and charts to attempt to get it all straight. It is quite a long, gruesome and convoluted tale. There is no wonder that historians have avoided it for so many years. It has of late, enjoyed some academic popularity, but it is a task indeed.
