I'm all for a more prominent location for a link to the poll.
Mebbe someone's got a grafic that can be altered/used, as opposed to a text link? I know that my ancient eyes are drawn to them first.
By the way, this post, by Shibori Murasaka, is a good one to emulate. Particularly the wording.
