    ... whether circulating or commemorative. The latter are proofs stuck in protective plastic shells or small bronze medallions that may or may not be in display boxes; the former are in coin folders to pass around when people stop by or plastic coin tubes which, when full, are taken to my safe deposit box as a future investment (admittedly, only the really shiny ones will be worth more over time).

    Hadn't even thought of non-US issues (save for the odd Canadian coin) until I did some surfing for WW2 commemoratives. Found a nice St Paul's Cathedral silver coin with a gelded edge, and now I hope over time to collect more of these sorts. (My dad served during the war in a non-combat US Army teaching position. Stuff like radio communications and a little secret at the time called RADAR.)
