I had given the order to make camp for the approaching night. It had been a long trek down from the Mountain of Flames and time was needed for us all to adjust to the different atmosphere. We had found a pleasnat area which lay in the shadow of the great mountain.

Before me I gazed at the lighter sky near the horizon. A bright glint in the sky roused my curiousity. I had never before seen a shooting star in the day.

I ordered one of my servants to bring my telescope and upon receiving it lifted it to my eye and searched the distant sky. I could see no stars much less as a shooting one.

I questioned what I did see. Was it an optical illusion, a dusty lens or was I seeing what I had heard about in some of the legends?
