Ave, I am known as Brutus the Stupid.

Everyone calls me that behind my back. No one ever calls me that to my face.

I am 22 year old male. I am unmarried. I am of the Plebian class, although I have aquired some wealth as a Gladiator.

I have fine, black hair and deep-set black eyes. My eyebrows are thick and hairy. There is a deep scar running across my left eyebrow, and through the bridge of my nose. This is where I was hit in the face with a sword while fighting in the arena. I have a square jaw that is oddly set, having been broken. My face is often red from sunburn. My face is covered with stubble, as I am frequently unshaven.

As far as the rest of my body goes, I am a thick, muscular 5'7 mass of walking scar tissue. I have an arrogant swagger and a hard, cold glance. My lips are frequently curled into a scornful frown.

This is what I want people to see. I don't want them to see an empty, soulless man of little education and no virtuas.

I don't want them to see the superstitous and ignorant brute who has to drink himself to sleep every night. A man who is tortured by the evil spirits of the dead Manes that come to haunt him nightly. A man who is haunted by the spirits of those he has killed in the arena or in the streets.

Brutus was born as the eldest son of a wealthy and reputable family of Plebian stock. A prudent and hard working man, his father had invested wisely and built up his family fortune. However at the age of ten, Brutus disparaged the family name and his father's honour. He squandered his father's money on his own lewd appetites and gluttonous desires. For this, his father cast Brutus from his house and from his family.

Once a wealthy son and heir, Brutus found himself in the gutter alone. He was homeless, destitute, and without virtue. He quickly joined a street gang and made a living as a common thug and robber in the streets of Rome. One night however, he was roused from his drunken stupor, and taken into custody by the Roman Guards. He was imprisoned briefly with many others, then taken to Gladiator School. Here, he learned to fight in the arena.
The talents of murder, mayhem, intimidation and deception that he had learned living in the streets now served him well. He was able to win fame, fortune, glory, and eventually his freedom in the Circus maximus. Where once he was hunted down and spat upon, now crowds cheered him and ladies sought his affections. Once despised as a common crook, now he was revered as a God! Although freed, Brutus continued to fight as a Gladiator for a while. Then he was defeated in one match, spared only by the mercy of the crowd.

He has fought as various types of Gladiator, from Retiarius to Beastarii and Dimachiia. He has studied various types of weaponry and armour, and is familiar with how they work in the Arena.
