Looking at your water pictures and they all look very good and you mention the problems of taking pictures of breaking waves

Does you digital camera have the function for taking muliple shots on one shutter press?, on ours we can set it to take a pic every 1/10 sec and I think it can take 15 pics with this function, it eats into the memory card but you might be able to get the shot you require

Just an idea the might work for you and keep sending in those excellent photos
