Xairete my good friends!
I would like fairly to state and to do a comparison as a Greek in favour of the Hellenic view of life and its composed forces. Egypt, to begin with, is a fertile valley of rich river soil, low-lying, warm, and monotonous! Greece is a country of mountains, with cold winter, hot summer, and a sea that can be disastrous for island. A Greek man must be strong to gain his food. So, the Egyptians turned their importance to the death, the Greeks to life! It is not difficult to realize it if we consider the plays and the athletic games as parts of the religious festivals. Edith Hamilton state, “The Greeks were not the victims of depression.” Absolute truth is that they “constantly looking for something better.” (Our) religion and social laws are based to that. Thus, it is, normal, believable to accept the preventing and propounding forces. If exists light it is true to be, also, darkness. That does not mean that darkness and light are gods or spirits. They are forces of the nature. The nature is transferable and movable to countries like Greece. Hence nature can offer light and dark, love and hate, and the human being can be free to choose what he wants.
With greeting,
Nikolaos o Athenaios.
