Some of you may have met Falkland already. Kendal Caledonii has given voice to his escapades in Deliver Us From Evil. But Falkland isn't the type to remain in only one place. So I will be reporting his adventures in The Otherworld. For those you who haven't met him, here's a little background information:


Falkland James was born in Frog's Glen, Ayrshire, the third child of Kendal and Eglantine James. He was 10 years younger than his sisters Aisling and Beatrice. The year before Falkland's birth Kendal James had been offered the prestigious position of History Master with the world famous Tumbleton School, and rather than move their young family around to accommodate the school year, the James' chose to reside in Frog's Glen year round. No one knows why his parents chose the name Falkland, although he insists it had nothing to do with the Falkland Islands, which his parents visited nine months before he was born.

Falkland's talent manifested young in life when at the age of two his parents found him levitating around the kitchen ceiling to avoid eating his spinach. Brocolli was soon being turned into broomsticks and by the time he was five, asparagus had been banned from the house altogether. At the age of seven he was accepted at Tumbleton, as were his sisters before him, where he spent the next ten years. Despite the fact his marks were considered little better than average, he displayed a prodigious talent for Black Arts Protection, Geomagiks, and the Art of Illusions. Precocious beyond measure, however, he proved to be a source of distraction for the other students and an irritation to his professors. It is certain he would have been expelled before matriculating had he not been taken under the wing of the well-known magus Dinsmore Barlafumble during his second year.

He completed his course of studies at Tumbleton, matriculating at the age of 17. After the tragic death of his parents, he left Frog's Glen to attend Thot University in Cairo. No records exist to show he attained a degree, although he spent three years at this well-known two-year university. Upon leaving school, he disappeared for another two years. It isn't known what he was doing during this period. However, his sisters received numerous cards and letters, postmarked Bablyon ("2nd year of the reign of Enlil-nadin-shumi"), Chang'an, St. Petersburg, Machu Picchu, Mnfr, Sioux Settlement (location unknown), Dingwall, and New Houston.

Falkland returned to Frog's Glen after a five year hiatus, where he opened a small shop called "Fangers and Fadoodles" specializing in 'rare magical items.' The Ministry is currently investigating the provenance of the shop's stock, but so far no charges of misuse of magic have been filed.
