    After Antonia killed herself, Caligula "rewarded" Macro for standing by him, against her accusations, by appointing him the governor of Egypt. But as Macro was boarding his ship at Ostia to sail to Egypt, he was arrested, put into chains and accused of killing several innocent men and women. Then he and his wife Ennia were forced to kill themselves.
