Konnichiwa! Some of you know me, and others don't but I'm Uesugi Ashikaga Kenshin; The Dragon of Echigo, and Guardian of Daitoku Temple. I will soon be joining the RP Pearls of Wisdom and look forward to participating with you all over the story.

I just thought I'd post my character Bio before I begin writing...

...I was born in a monastery in Aomori province on Shimokita peninsula in northern Japan. My father was a Daimyo, and a well-known Samurai hero in the region. My name is Uesugi Ashikaga Kenshin. His name was Ashikaga Katsumoto, that was before his small branch of the Ashikaga Clan was ordered by the Ashikaga Shogun to become part of the Uesugi Clan, hence my mixed name. I never knew my mother; she died shortly after my birth. I began my training at age 5, which included math, astronomy, philosophy, as well as Chinese and Japanese literature, legends, astrology, and lore; and training in the ways of the sword, bow, yari, naginata, training in horsemanship, and of course, Bushido: The Way of the Warrior, and all the trappings of formality, politeness, and the Tea Ceremony. I was 14, and had just completed my training to be Samurai and Daimyo of Aomori province, when tragedy struck and my Father was killed in battle. He was fighting against a neighbor clan who was rebelling against the Ashikaga Shogunate, and I became the new Daimyo of Aomori province.

That was some 40 years ago. I now am 54 and Daimyo of Aomori, Akite, and Iwate provinces. The last two courtesy of the new Ashikaga Shogun, in thanks for suppressing the rebellious Fukushima Clan. Under my rule, my realm has prospered beyond my father's wildest dreams. However for the past year I feel as though something is missing. I have been praying to Bhudda for an answer to my emptiness. Last night, the lord Bhudda appeared to me in my dreams. He told me not to worry, that I would soon find what I seek. He told me to go to Kamakura; there I would find all I am seeking. I do not know if this was merely a dream, but I have decided to go to Kamakura. Perhaps I can find a lasting inner peace there. I have already turned my power over temporarily to a capable regent. I will leave for Kamakura tonight. If I ride fast enough, I should be able to get there by dawn...
